Bears Love Birdseed!
Bears have a keen sense of smell. They are attracted to nuts and seeds which are very high in protein and fat.

*Hang feeders 10’ out from any tree and 10’ off the ground.
*Catch spilled seed with a seed catcher such as a SeedHoop under the feeder.
*Many birds dump seed until they find the kind they want. Put only one kind of seed in each feeder; the birds will go to the feeder with their preferred seed.
*Take feeders in at night.
*Perhaps feed birds only during the winter when bears hibernate, from late November through late March.
*If visited by a bear, remove feeders for two weeks. Hopefully the bear will give up and move on.
